Project Description:
This project involved infill of a 24.5-foot wide space between an existing historic church and rectory. Careful structural underpinning of both structures was required and application of loads in a manner not to disturb existing fragile buildings. The project sought and gained approval by the District of Columbia’s Historic Preservation Board. Final configuration required handicapped accessibility lift and used existing wall of church as interior wall of meeting room.
