With the recent closure of a town-leased parking lot behind the former Loudoun Times-Mirror building, Blair White, a vice president with Landmark Commercial said developers are preparing to start construction on the Church + Market development in the next few weeks.
“On the heels of receiving final site plan approval about 45 days ago, we’re gearing up to break ground,” White said. “We’re in the process of scheduling the preconstruction meeting with town and county inspectors, and have terminated the onsite parking lease with the town in preparation for fencing and grading activities.”
Church + Market is a mixed-use development which will bring 116 apartments and a three-level parking garage providing 177 parking spaces in the downtown area. It also includes about 33,000-square-feet of commercial office and retail space, which includes the renovation and addition to the historic Times-Mirror building, which is 16,700 square feet total, White said.
The apartment building will be six stories at its highest point.
White anticipates about 24 month timeline for delivery with residents expected to move-in by the fall of 2024 and commercial spaces could possibly be completed by spring 2024.
“We’re very excited to finally get rolling on this transformative project,” White said.
